Beer Profile: Sweetwater Georgia Brown

Reviewed by Ken Carman

Last time I met these brewers I wound up on their bottling line. You’d think I’d be smart enough to say something nasty just to get myself off their beer bitch list. Damn! I just can’t do it.

No hops. Not that kind of Brown. The focus here is the amber, caramel and slight, at best, chocolate malts with a bit of a dry finish that the slight bitter-hopping helps: just a little bitter. A bit too much head: but it settles very fast.

A light brown with nice clarity. Refreshing, not cloying: very impressive. I’ve had better Browns, but not many.
